My job title is "Software Developer" which so far consist of programming with HTML, Active Server Pages, and JavaScript which all deal with making web pages such as this one, only a lot more complex. Once this project winds down and a new one starts, my duties will probably change a bit as well. The project that I am working on at the moment is a web site called ModelGolf. This is a huge site with hundreds of web pages. They are getting close to the "grand opening" and I have heard that the cost for the web site is right around $70,000.00 US per month. Kind of blows me away. Good thing I get some profit sharing!! Presently you will not be able to see anything except a form saying if you will input your email address, they will notify you when the site is open. I can not take credit for much of this site as there have been 4 other developers working on this site since April. Last bit that I heard is that the site will be going live to the general public about the middle of January 2001.

The company Ciscorp has about 150 employees but they are just being merged into another company called Stargate which will then have a total of about 450 employees. They have 4 main divisions in Ciscorp. The one I am in is called the Microsoft Technology Practice. This division's main focus is on designing and building web based solutions for other companies. A lot of these solutions are not designed for the general public, but rather for other businesses. An example would be a retail store and it's supplier. Only those two companies would have access to the application. It sounds like I should be able to get great experience and have the opportunity for career advancement with this company. We will soon find out.
